博士，北京大学副教授，先后求学于浙江大学、北京大学及美国匹兹堡大学。自2005年8月开始任职于北京大学软件与微电子学院，负责创建语言信息工程系，并随后执教至今并管理日常教学事务。曾在多家商业公司任职程序员，担当研发项目主管等工作，并曾在美国匹兹堡大学任职系统图书馆员等。主讲北京大学第一批MOOC课程之《计算器辅助翻译原理与实践》，先后在edx、coursera、学堂在线等网站上线，学生超6万。主要研究领域以人工智能，自然语言处理技术及软件系统研发为主，包括机器翻译、自适应语言教学理论与语言认知理论及实践，古汉语自然语言处理，部份工作内容还涉及计算机视觉，知识图谱等。
